The Vascular Surgery Department

The Vascular Surgery Department specializes in diseases of the blood vessels (arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels) throughout the body, except for the brain and the heart. Common conditions include varicose veins, venous thrombosis, arterial reserves, and aneurysms of various arteries. Additionally, the department provides wound care for chronic, hard-to-heal wounds in collaboration with the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Institute and Foot Orthopedics, utilizing all modern surgical techniques.

Manager’s Message

"In the Vascular Surgery Department, we never give up. We provide high-quality, meticulous, and continuous care. Our team is dedicated to offering personalized, compassionate, and attentive treatment to patients and their families, aiming to improve their quality of life," explains Dr. Igor Rabin, Head of the Department.

Patients

The department treats patients of all age groups, from congenital vascular defects to vascular trauma. In addition, it offers treatment for degenerative obstructive vascular diseases and atherosclerosis. In recent years, the department has developed specialized expertise, being the only department in Israel performing complex vascular access surgeries, and is unique in its endoscopic (minimally invasive) procedures.

Facilities & Equipment

The Vascular Surgery Department includes 12 hospitalization beds, a vascular surgery clinic, and a center for vein diseases and lymphedema – a dedicated vascular disease research institute. The department also collaborates with other departments in the wound care clinic for chronic, hard-to-heal wounds.

The hospitalization conditions in the department are very comfortable. The department is well-maintained and is equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices, a dining area, and television access. The department is a pioneer in Israel in introducing innovative surgical techniques, including carotid artery stents, as well as endovascular stents for aortic aneurysms, using advanced drilling technologies. It is also a pioneer in performing foam sclerotherapy for varicose veins.
