Plastic Surgery Department

The Plastic Surgery Department is part of the Surgical Division at the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh). The department specializes in reconstructive surgery in all its aspects and works in collaboration with various hospital departments.

The department provides cosmetic surgery and aesthetic treatments. The department team uses various advanced technologies, such as modern wound dressings, high-standard implants, and sophisticated imaging and surgical equipment to enhance patient care.

MOHS Surgery and Ambulatory Surgery Unit

The MOHS Surgery and Ambulatory Surgery Unit at the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) focuses on the removal of facial cancerous tumors and other lesions from the face and other areas of the body. The procedures are primarily performed in ambulatory operating rooms, mostly under local anesthesia, but some require general anesthesia, depending on the tumor's size. The MOHS technique is used when necessary for precise tumor excision.

Reconstructive Surgery

The Plastic Surgery Department at the Shamir Medical Center (Assafe Harofeh) specializes in various types of reconstructive surgeries.

New: Laser Scar Removal Center

The Laser Scar Removal Center specializes in the elimination of different types of scars, including acne scars, surgical scars such as C-section scars, burn scars, and more.

New: Skin Rejuvenation Center

Skin rejuvenation treatment. Skin aging results from internal factors, such as bone mass loss, muscle and skin thinning, and redistribution of fat tissue. External factors that influence skin aging include sun exposure, smoking, stress, a diet low in fruits, vegetables, and protein, excessive stress, alcohol consumption, and depression.

Aesthetics Clinic

The Plastic Surgery Clinic treats patients who are candidates for reconstructive surgeries, such as breast reconstruction or reconstruction procedures related to severe burns. The clinic also treats a wide range of benign and malignant skin tumors, including melanoma, and performs acute and reconstructive burn treatments.

Chronic Wound and Ulcer Treatment

The Plastic Surgery Department offers treatment and follow-up for chronic wounds and ulcers as part of the comprehensive chronic wound care program at the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh).

Pediatric and Adolescent Surgeries

The unit performs surgeries in children and adolescents from birth to age 18 to correct congenital anomalies, such as breast asymmetry, cleft palate, significantly large birthmarks, cleft lip, prominent ears, scars, and more.
