The Orthopedic Division

The Orthopedic Division at the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) has set its primary goal of integrating the treatment of various skeletal and muscle problems alongside research and innovation. In light of the growing awareness of the orthopedic industry in Israel, the orthopedic division offers an appropriate therapeutic response within its various departments and units, which provide the broadest possible solution to common and uncommon problems that comprise the fields of orthopedics.

At the top of the division are the A and B Orthopedic Departments and the adjacent orthopedic units, covering areas like foot, ankle, palm, spine and joints. In addition, the division comprises the Sport Injuries and Arthroscopy Units and the Endoscopic Orthopedic Unit.

Sport Injuries and Arthroscopy Unit

The Endoscopic Orthopedics Unit and Sports Injuries at the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) is among the national leaders in its field in Israel and is known to many athletes who visit it for rehabilitation following sports injuries.

 


Pediatric Orthopedics Department

The pediatric orthopedics department is well known in Israel and abroad, thanks to its expertise in rehabilitative orthopedics. The patients are children suffering from disabilities caused by accidents, birth defects and diseases, and especially children with cerebral palsy.


Joints Replacement Unit

The Joint Replacement Unit maintains a dedicated clinic within the center’s outpatient clinics, which treats patients referred for joint replacement surgery, patients suffering from degenerative joint diseases and injuries after car accidents, or patients after joint replacement surgery.


Foot and Ankle Surgery Unit

With an average activity volume of about 4,400 patients per year, the Foot and Ankle Surgery Unit is the largest unit in the country dealing with foot and ankle treatments.
