Ophthalmology Division

The Ophthalmology Division at the Shamir Medical Center is one of Israel's largest and leading eye care centers. It includes the Eye Institute (clinics), a hospitalization department, and advanced operating rooms equipped with the latest technology. The division is affiliated with Tel Aviv University’s School of Medicine, annually training medical students and interns. The Eye Institute houses ten modern and spacious clinics, serving thousands of patients from the Shfela and central regions

Ophthalmology Clinics

  • The spacious, advanced ophthalmology clinics at the Shamir Medical Center are equipped with the latest technology for eye disease treatment, imaging devices, and laser therapy.
  • Approximately 25,000 patients are examined annually in the ophthalmology clinics, receiving diagnosis, treatment, and post-surgical care. The clinics also provide consultations for community doctors.
  • Our expert ophthalmologists diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases, offering pre-surgical evaluation and counseling and post-surgical follow-up and monitoring in addition to routine consultation for community doctors. The clinics also offers consultations for other hospital departments and emergency referrals.
  • The ophthalmology institute conducts minimally invasive procedures, including intravitreal injections, retinal laser treatments, laser therapy for secondary cataracts, and more.
