The Shamir Medical Center operates four Intensive Care Units, providing care for patients with complex medical conditions and critical situations. General Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The Shamir Medical Center General Intensive Care Unit is one of the largest in Israel, with 18 beds. It provides life-saving care for critically ill patients requiring life-support systems, including respiratory and cardiac support and multi-organ problems. One of the unique strengths of the ICU is its ability to treat patients from all hospital departments, including surgical units, trauma, and internal medicine.
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit specializes in providing rapid and highly effective treatment to reduce the risk of life-threatening complications and minimize damage to the heart muscle.

Intermediate Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
This intermediate unit serves as a transitional stage between cardiac intensive care and hospitalization in an internal medicine department. It is designed for patients who have recovered from the acute phase of their illness and are no longer in immediate life-threatening danger.
